Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk on the difference between what him and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos are doing with their respective space companies

“Jeff and I believe that it’s important for humanity to be a space bearing civilization.  Ultimately, we need to be out there among the stars.  And that’s an exciting future that many people want.  It’s about being a multi-planetary species and having life on earth extend out into the rest of the solar system.

Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk on staying inspired

“Life can’t be just about solving problems.  You need things exciting and inspiring that make you glad to be alive.”

Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk shared his thoughts on a possible Apple electric car

“I think it’s great Apple is doing this, I hope it works out.  I think they should have embarked on this project sooner actually but they don’t share with me their production plans.  I don’t think they’ll be in volume production sooner than maybe 2020.  It’s a missed opportunity.  They’ll probably make a good car and be successful.  The sheer scale of auto plant manufacturing is staggering.”
