Max Drawdown of The Top Performing Stocks of the Last Decade

As the market heads higher and stocks start to press against the high end of a reasonable valuation range, it’s tempting to think that picking strong growth companies can insulate an investor from a big drawdown. ¬†However, below is a reminder that sometimes even the best companies can stumble with the market.

The stocks below are 15 of the Russell 1000’s top performers since 2003. ¬†All of them saw significant declines in the last recession, and several have not made it back to prior highs even though they are still top performers over the last 10 years.
